Connect Instagram and import your DMs
Bring every conversation in, back to the very first message.
- Go to Settings → Instagram connection and click Connect. Log in with the Instagram professional account you use for business.
- Click Import all DMs. Crustomer imports your conversations in the background, newest first. You can close the page.
- For your full history, request your Instagram data download (Instagram → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information, messages only, JSON format) and upload it on the same page. It merges into the same conversations.
Instagram's API only shares the latest messages of each conversation, which is why the data download matters: it's the only way to get older messages.
Your Instagram needs to be a professional account (business or creator). You can switch for free in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type and tools.
